5 Tips to Help You Implement Marginal Living Now

Are you feeling as though you need more white space in your life? Are you constantly stressing about having to do this activity or that project? Do you crave a more simple life? Today I am going to share with you five tips to help you create a more marginal way of living.

Realize You Are Not Alone

Don’t think that you are alone. In this quest for a more simple, marginal life do not think that you are alone. We all struggle balancing everything we have going on in life.

There are many of us who are trying to go on this journey of a marginal lifestyle. So, if you ever feel like you are the only one, let me assure you, you are not! In fact, I am sure if you left a comment down below you would find others who are craving exactly what you are. Reach out!

See the Whole Picture

Avoid the temptation to think that we are alone! Social media makes it easy to see these picture-perfect lives. We have to remember that they only show us that a picture. They do not show us the whole thing going on in the background.

There are lots of us that balance our crazy lives without help, but there are also lots of us that balance our crazy lives with help. If you can, and you need it, hire someone. Hire a sitter, a maid, a virtual assistant, whatever or whomever you need to simplify your life.

Focus on the Important

Make sure you’re focusing on what’s important in your life. What is in your life that must absolutely stay the priorities of your life? Is it your family? Is it time alone for yourself? Ask yourself what your negotiable are. Find out what’s truly important to you and make a written list. Post it somewhere you will see it.

The biggest priorities for me are my son and my husband. The biggest and most important factor in my life is being home with my son. I will not negotiate on that. I put that as my focus and build my life around it. Focus on those priorities in your life.

Cut Out Negotiables or Simplify

When coming across negotiable items while writing your priorities trying cutting them out. If you don’t NEED to do them, don’t do them.

If you somehow can’t remove those negotiable from your life, try to find a way to simplify them. Try simplifying your processes, establishing routines, delegating, automating, clearing the clutter, prioritizing.

Remember you don’t have to do it all, you just have to do what matters.

Utilize Time Management Tools

If you don’t already- use a time manager to help you in your quest to clear the clutter, prioritize and manage. This could be an App, a Planner (see my post here to find out which Planner I recommend!) or some other time management tool. They are worth the investment. Don’t be scared to play around with a few of them to find one that really works for you. If you don’t love it, you won’t use it.

Hopefully one of these, or all of these tips, can help you on your journey to more marginal, purposeful living. Which tip was your favorite? Don’t forget to comment down below!
